Challenge
The EAM's HNW clients increasingly expected a mobile-first experience — real-time portfolio views, secure messaging, document access, statement download — that the legacy web portal couldn't deliver. Building a mobile team in-house was not commercially viable for a 60-person firm; off-the-shelf white-label apps did not integrate with their MAS-licensed custodian or their existing CLM workflow.
How we delivered
SpeciTec's Mobile Banking module was deployed as a white-labelled iOS + Android app with the EAM's brand, colour palette and typography applied through theming rather than code forks.
Authentication was federated to the EAM's existing identity provider with biometric step-up for sensitive flows (statement download, secure messaging). MAS TRMG controls were validated by the firm's external auditor in the pre-launch test pass.
The custodian integration was wired through SpeciTec's standard connector framework, surfacing real-time positions, transactions and corporate actions inside the app without exposing the underlying APIs to the front-end.
Outcome
The app shipped to both stores 14 weeks after kickoff, on the original timeline. Monthly active client engagement rose 58% versus the legacy web portal in the first quarter post-launch. The MAS audit closed without findings on the mobile workflow.
“We are sixty people. We do not have an app team. SpeciTec gave us an app product — branded, integrated, audited — without us having to become a software company.”
